Rojin Tavassoli (Tehran 1987) studied at Artez University of the Arts in Enschede and is fascinated by painting as a medium to help portray memories of objects, locations, and imagery of areas where we live. I build fictitious locations in which multiple viewpoints mix into freshly formed transitional and inherently unpleasant regions by composing clashing architectural forms. Inorganic, collage-like works, she blends tones and colors to convey the confusion and transition, which corresponds to her current situation. Her art analysis focuses on articulating common, even basic, urban components with painterly language
In my paintings I use everyday and vivid components to create a feeling of reality, connecting memory, dream, and reality.
